Built by people who have been there

We started Internship Abroad because we went through it ourselves. The agencies were expensive, the information was all over the place, and the support disappeared the moment you landed. So we built what we wished existed: a platform where everything is transparent and everything starts free.

We are a small team based between the Netherlands, Bali, and Sardinia. No corporate office. We work the way our students do: internationally, flexibly, and with the kind of energy that comes from genuinely caring about the outcome.

How it works - FAQ

Your profile takes about two minutes to make and goes live straight away. We recommend starting at least 3 months before your desired start date to allow time for visa applications and travel arrangements.

No prior work experience is required. Companies look for interns at all levels, from first-year students to final-year undergraduates. Your profile helps showcase your skills, personality, and potential beyond just a traditional CV.

Talk to the company first. If a placement genuinely does not work out, your profile stays live and companies can still find you. Your wellbeing always comes first.

Absolutely. You choose where you want to go. We cover 30+ destinations, so there is plenty of choice, and our destination guides help you compare places you might not have considered.

In most cases, yes, if your university approves it in advance. Sandwich years, placement modules and Turing Scheme projects each have their own rules. Ask your placements office what they need, then request the confirmation letter, supervisor details and learning agreement from your host company.

Internship Abroad is an app, so there is no local team on the ground. Your supervisor at the host company is your first contact at work. Before you go, save your insurer's 24/7 assistance line, the local emergency number and the nearest British Embassy, and work through the before-you-go checklist in the app.
